David Mulkey is the founder and principal of Polias Management and Polias Development.
As a former touring musician and record company executive, Mulkey was drawn to Athens for the music scene and appreciates the diverse community offered in the Classic City.
He ventured into real estate in 1996 and began purchasing, renovating, and constructing rental homes in Athens while still touring. Shortly after, he created a new concept in student housing by developing craftsman style cottages in a traditional neighborhood format, offering college students the luxury comforts of home like clubhouses, pools, fitness studios, and coffee shops. Over the span of 16 years, Mulkey developed more than 18,000 student bed projects throughout the Southeast.
He continues to expand his portfolio and integrates his expertise in all different facets of real estate including: multi-family, retail, and office development. With an emphasis on creating a unique aesthetic and securing desirable tenants, Mulkey and his team offer Athens the very best in thoughtful placemaking. The goal is not to simply develop, but to reimagine real estate in a way that inspires folks to love where they live, work, and play.
While Mulkey’s professional life is dedicated to bettering Athens through intentional development, his personal life is devoted to his four children.
His hobbies include: photography, sailing, architecture, farming, and all things outdoors. Mulkey is an avid supporter of Boy Scouts of America.
