True Community is at the Heart of Athens’ Newest Cowork Location
June 17, 2023 — Athens, Ga.— Polias announces a second Runway Cowork location opened this week in Beechwood Town Center at 196 Alps Road.
Runway launched three years ago in downtown Athens as an alternative to the home office, giving clients the opportunity to elevate their workspace through flexible desk and membership options.
The Beechwood location features muted interior tones, live plants, and an elevated aesthetic to bring a sense of calm while inspiring productivity.
“Runway exists as a hub for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to network, collaborate, and bring more great ideas to life in our city,” said Dave Mulkey, principal of Polias. “We designed the space to equip, inspire, and be a landing place for like-minded professionals in or traveling through Athens.”
Runway joins The Buckle Inc. (Buckle), La Parilla, and Hibbett in the Paseo: A New Experience at Beechwood corridor. A second Athens Church location will open in Paseo this Fall. Formerly Stein Mart, the new corridor brings a series of updates following the addition of REI Co-op and Sephora. Updates will continue with First Watch replacing the former Jason’s Deli.
“Beechwood is in the heart of Athens, and cultivating community is at the heart of what we are doing here,” said Mulkey. “We want Beechwood to be more than a shopping center – it is a place where Athenians can work, play, relax, and hang out.”
Polias acquired the Beechwood Shopping Center in 2019 and has since carried the vision of creating a community-centric hub of shopping, events, and dining. In addition to renovations and updates, the Polias team has also instilled the traditions of the Beechwood Holiday Market and Beechwood Mother’s Day Market.
This new era of redevelopment continues Polias’ journey to revive and maintain legacy at Beechwood Shopping Center. Known as one of the most iconic centers in the area, Polias has added tenants like Playa Bowls, REI Co-op, Lululemon, Crumbl Cookies, Sephora, and more.
