REI opens second location in Georgia at Beechwood Shopping Center

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op has announced plans to open an Athens location in fall 2022 at the Beechwood Shopping Center. The 17,200-square-foot store will be the chain’s first outside the metro Atlanta area and its sixth in Georgia.

In addition to selling apparel and related gear for activities like camping, cycling, running, hiking and climbing, the Athens REI will have a full-service bike shop staffed by certified mechanics. The store will also offer online ordering, curbside pick-up and a trade-in program that lets members exchange used gear for REI gift cards.
