Beechwood Celebrates the Holidays with Tree Lighting and The Big Beyond Concert Nov. 25

Nov. 14, 2022 — Athens, GA — The third annual Beechwood Holiday Market will open on Friday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. with a Christmas tree lighting and holiday concert by Atlanta-based band, The Big Beyond. As part of this year’s market, Beechwood is asking the community to help raise $50,000 for three Athens-based nonprofit partners: Lydia’s Place, Mercy Health Center, and The Sparrow’s Nest

Opening night will include a giveaway sponsored by some of Beechwood’s brands, including Kendra Scott, Lululemon, Foot Palace, Your Pie, Crunch Fitness, and more. In addition to live music, visitors will enjoy food trucks, Santa photos, hayrides, face painting, s’mores, and hot chocolate.

“We are very excited to bring Beechwood Holiday Market back this year,” said David Mulkey, principal of Polias. “It’s our immense privilege to share a bit of holiday magic with our Athens friends and neighbors, and give back to our community. We want to create events that foster memories that last a lifetime for our city. Beechwood is a part of Athens’ history, and we look forward to being a part of the future.”

Additional Beechwood Holiday Market events include:

  • Friday, Dec. 2: Beechwood will host an outdoor family movie night with viewings of The Grinch (2018) and Elf. Screenings will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. Traditional movie fare will be for purchase, and moviegoers can enjoy food trucks, Santa photos, face painting, and more.
  • Friday, Dec. 9: The Holiday Market will feature a holiday concert with local Athens musician and The Voice finalist, James David Carter.
